Tumalapalli uranium mine in Andhra Pradesh state of India, the largest uranium mine of the world discovered

A new mine discovered in south India could contain the largest reserves of uranium in the world, a govt official said in his remarks reported Tuesday, as India is a energy-hungry country, therefore, this news is very important for them.
It is situated at Tumalapalli Andhra Pradesh state and could contain up to 150,000 tonnes of uranium ,extractable, Srikumar Banerjee, secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy, told reporters after a 4 year survey of the site was completed.
If it comes out 100% true then it will be the largest uranium mine in the world,” he said.
Previous estimates suggested that only about 15,000 tonnes of uranium would be produced at the mine, which is due to start operating by the end of the year.

But he also pointed out that “it is not high-grade uranium but rather it is low-grade uranium. We have not yet found any high-grade uranium mine in India to match that were found in Australia.”
